We are inviting
county teams of four to participate in the Alert, Evacuate, and Shelter
Training. The main goal of the training is to help your community set
up Science, Engineering Technology Teams comprised of teens and adults
who will address the emergency preparedness needs of your citizens. The
participant will learn geospatial technology skills and leadership
skills as they participate in the project.

in College Park, Maryland for Maryland, Delaware and District of
Columbia

The states listed
are allowed to have first choice on the training slots available. Each
state team will need to contact their State 4-H Program Leader to let
them know they would like to participate. We will accept 12 teams of
four for each training session. There is no cost for registration and
two of the meals are paid for. Your team will need to pay for
transportation and lodging. Lodging locations will be listed with rates
included. There is a $500.00 stipend given to the Extension
Educator/4-H Educator for your team to use to further the project as
well as an ESRI grant for software.

Community Networks with GIS professionals, emergency managers, and
local citizens
